Whether you are a long time or first time student, you may or may not know there are many perks that go beyond a quality education... there's savings! That's correct, your student status makes you kind of a big deal at local businesses who know you are trying to study and save. Those same businesses want to see your smart, smiling faces when you are ready for a study break. Save those pennies now and you will be earning them later.

Congratulations are in order for hundreds and hundreds of you. We know our students are intelligent, driven and determined, but this is impressive. A total of 556 students were named to the Dean’s List and 597 students were named to the Merit List.

Succeeding in college is more than books, studying, quizzes and lectures... although that's a big part of it. Successful students learn how to prepare themselves for the daily challenges and adjustments that go beyond the classroom. Should you cook dinner first or get some reading out of the way?

Stuff-A-Cruiser is an annual event that visits each QCC campus over a three day period. This year's event collected over 300 toys and more than $400 in cash donations, the largest amount ever. The cash donations are allocated to the "Feed-A-Family" portion of the event and distributed to families in the form of grocery store gift cards so they may cook their holiday meals at home. Please read "Blue Santa's" letter of thanks to all who were a part of Stuff-A-Cruiser 2018.

Dianna Provencher is a mother of two, a grandmother of three, a beekeeper of literally thousands and a Quinsigamond Community College graduate. They say an interesting journey never follows a straight path and Dianna is a perfect example of how that came to be true. But... there's more to Dianna's story, some may say she's as busy as a bee.

Looking for a way to give back this holiday season? Something as simple as a gently used blanket, jacket or pair of gloves can go a long way for someone who needs it. Various departments at QCC are working hard to make sure that local families have what they need to stay warm and happy this year.

If you or someone you know is in need this holiday season, please remember the QCC Food Pantry is available to students, faculty and staff. If you have used their confidential services before, then you may or may not already know that they have moved to Room B63A. This location is near the revolving doors in the basement of the Administration Building on the main campus in Worcester.

A couple of weeks ago, we asked you to help us growl back at hunger on our campuses. We had two short weeks to reach a fundraising goal of $10,000 to stock the shelves, fill the fridge and help feed students who cannot afford to put food on the table. Today, the pantry is consistently feeding

Can you hear that? It's the sound of holiday cheer! Full stomachs and happy kids! That's right everyone, it's that time of year again... when the QCC Police Department trades in their sirens for jingle bells. The annual "Stuff-A-Cruiser" event has been a holiday tradition at Quinsigamond Community College for over 30 years. It's an outdoor gathering with hot chocolate, a cruiser, a blue Santa... and the simple joy of giving! It really is amazing how good it can make you feel to drop off a toy knowing how happy THEY will be when they FINALLY get to unwrap it.
