Under the direction and oversight of Dr. Kathy Rentsch, Associate Vice President for Strategic Academic and Workforce Initiatives, as well as the Academic Affairs team, we are pleased to announce that we have executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Southbridge Public Schools. QCC Southbridge will be moving from 5 Optical Drive to Southbridge High School, 132 Torrey Road later this Summer.
We will offer academic and workforce development programs at this location. Some exciting initiatives will be in store for the Southbridge community by this change in location. We will have more space and flexibility to provide credit, non-credit and workforce development programming. Due to a much stronger relationship with Southbridge High School, we will have greater access to students who can take advantage of our Early College Program, and their family members who may be able to take advantage of our academic and workforce development offerings. Being closer to the community we serve allows for a broader footprint in the region, and a more integrated approach to program development.
We will continue to roll out additional plans and information in the coming months leading up to the Fall semester “virtual” opening. A working group to develop strategic initiatives and a second group developing long-term goals are busy working through all the details as we get closer to Fall.
An official virtual MOU/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place later this summer (details will be forthcoming). We will continue to provide more information as it becomes available.
